Week 10

¡Hola mis amigos!

Hahaha how's everyone doing? Another quick week has gone by. We are not starting our 4th week in the transfer! It has been awesome. Love this gospel! I have been studying so much it's crazy. I know so much more than I did before, I'm like a gospel genius!! So fun haha. Anyways, I've got some good news and some bad news...let's start with the good news!! Always gotta be positive first.

- We got a car!! Yup that's right ladies and gentlemen we have got a car!! No more biking for us!! No for real though it's so nice. Now we can actually go visit people and go to member dinners!!

- My companion and I made a cake! Well... 4 cakes but 1 of them turned out well. That is not the point! We decorated a cake and it was awesome.

- We have had someone almost read all of 1 and 2 Nephi! (That never happens apparently)

- God has blessed me with the gift of tongues. My speaking and listening has never been better! (But i still wanna bang my head on the wall sometimes)

-It's not getting easier out here, but every day I see blessings. I see miracles. I see God's hand in our lives! So awesome.

-It is raining here in Nevada!!! Now we have had 2 full days of rain and that never happens! This state definitely needs it. I do love the rain as well, so I'm not complaining in the slightest! However, if I was still on bikes I'd be complaining...

-We went to the temple!! Oh my gosh was it amazing. The Reno temple is much smaller than the temples I've been to... but I have never loved a temple more. It feels so right to be in there! The workers were awesome and the interior had my jaw dropping. Love Reno, Nevada and the opportunity we had to go this week!

Now for the bad news...

-a SICKNESS is going around here in our zone. My comp has the most terrifying cough known to man. But luckily I've only received a runny nose. My mom gave me these vitamin pills before I left and I'm SO glad I stuck to them otherwise I'd be very I'll right now.

-If you can remember about the guy I talked about last week, we had a great lesson with him right after I sent my email. However we came back this week and his wife began to tell us that they don't believe in our church. They struggled with Joseph Joseph and they asked us not to come back. This is my first rejection guys!! Kind of sad and I'm not going to lie to you guys I'm bummed... but I know God has a plan for him. He will, in due time, be curious again and find his way to the gospel of Jesus Christ. So bummer!!

-a lot of people are able to return to their reassignments... so that means Emergency Transfers and rumors. I'm praying every night that I don't get E.T. into an English area because my Spanish is just starting to get good!!

So yeah! Kind of some good news and bad news but we are good here in Reno baby! Quick little story and then I'll wrap this up. This is too good to miss out on hahaha.

My companion and I were "tracting" which means you walk around and find people to talk to. We were walking down this street and started to hear music. We walked towards it, trying to figure out what it was and who was singing it. As we began to walk, a mother and her son were walking with us. I look over and ask in Spanish, "This street has a lot of music, is there a special occasion?" She looks over and asks us if we had eaten yet. I reply with, "only about 3 hours ago..." and she then INVITES us to this party. My companion and I follow her down the street and get to this party. We were served food, talked to a lot of people... and the ONLY white people there. That has NEVER happened to me. I live in draper... this doesn't happen often. Anyways so eventually we get to the point, where we decided we can't be lame and just sit here... so we go up and dance. The first song was awkward because it was just us dancing... but eventually we got a little old man to join us. Then from there, it was like a flood of people. Everybody came up to dance with us!! Oh my gosh it was so fun. We had some music and all these people dancing! Then, in the middle of one song, a man grabs my companion by the hips and starts dancing with him. As I look over my companions eyes are in SHOCK as this man is dancing with him. If you were to look at me... I'm dying laughing. Then, he starts to SPIN the man. SPIN HIM. WHAT IS GOING ON. This man is clearly drunk and is having the best time of his life. Little after that we said our thank yous and helped clean up. But, how funny Is that?! Solid times on the mission haha.

Anyways, I hope all of you are well. I want you all to know that God has a plan for us. A perfect plan. We have ways of knowing it. If you search, you can know! Feel free to reach out to me. For those of you who reply to my emails. Thank you so much! I read all of them and love all of them too. Thank you! Be safe!
