Week 63

Buenos días a todos! Como están?!     I hope yall had a great week! October is coming to an end, man that's crazy! Today is Halloween too so I hope y'all get an opportunity to get some candy or what not. This week was a really good one actually and it went by pretty fast! We had a lot to do everyday so it made it a lot more enjoyable for me. When you're not busy, the time goes by like a snail but luckily here in Elko there is plenty to do! (unless it's PDAY)     We had an awesome experience this week! We were trying to meet with our friend George for the entire week so we can try to set a date for his baptism. We would set up something and he got too tired or he was caught up at work. We had a lesson set for the next week and Elder Kroff gets a text and goes, "What are we doing November 5th?" I say, "I don't know, why?" he responds, "Well, George wants to be baptized" Man I got up out of the chair and started jumping for joy. It was so ...

Week 62

Como andan mis compás?!     You know you would think since I was in Nevada last year that I'm used to the weather changes and the seasons, no. It went from 75 degree afternoons walking around in a short sleeve white shirt to absolutely pouring snow in 30 degree weather. I love Nevada so much!     This week was good! Élder Kroff and I were able to get to know each other more and develop that comp unity. He is an awesome Élder and has that fire that all the missionaries have when they come out of the mtc. I love it. I've been teaching him a lot just of the basics still out here in missionary work and man j forgot how much stuff there actually is! To me back then it wasn't all too complicated but now that I look at it, it is. We are always having a good time joking around so we are getting along well! He likes to run too so we've been able to go and run outside in the mornings which has been really nice!     We had some trouble this week getting into homes of ...

Muy buenos días a todos!     Another week on the mission! Holy smokes, this one was all over the place! However, that's good right? We need change and to be thrown up in the air and tossed around a little bit sometimes right? It's a part of what being in life is all about and I definitely had this week! Like I mentioned last week, ya boy received a new companion who is a brand new missionary! He is fresh out of the MTC from Mexico! His name is Elder Kroff and he is from eagle mountain Utah. Man, I can't stop getting companions from Utah! He is awesome, he's got some great desires to help others come unto Christ and teach the restored Gospel in Spanish!     When they tell you you're going to train a new missionary, they did not say it was going to be this hard! Man I feel so much weight on my shoulders all the time and I have so many things I just want to cram into his brain, but I can't because his head would explode. It has been a bit tougher this week because ...

Week 60

Muy buenos días!     Hey guys! Man, this week was great! Élder Rawlings and I named this week Grind Week since it was his last full week in the mission field. We called it that because we wanted to go as hard as we possibly could to just spread the Gospel. When he said that at the beginning of the week I was like, "I thought every week was grind week..." but I guess not because we had surpassed a lot of our progress from the previous week! Now I'm going to make every week Grind Week because man it was so much fun. We were able to set up a lot of lessons and have many teaching opportunities. It's so fun to just sit down and get to know someone then BOOM the Gospel of Jesus Christ gets introduced into their lives.     Well, as you know the story my good pal Élder Rawlings goes home this week. He flies out on Thursday! Oh how I'll miss him. We have become pretty good friends these past 2 transfers and we have known each other for as long as I've been out on the m...

Week 59

Muy buenos días a todos!     Man, this week and weekend was just filled with some spiritual rejuvenation! General Conference was incredible and out here in Elko you already know we made the best of it. We were able to be with some members and watch it so that was really fun. Unfortunately, we didn't have any of our friends come and watch it with us... In person. We sent the link out and we had some people saying they watched it! Man it's so awesome to know that we can hear from our Prophet and use this guidance for these next 6 months!     This week we had an interesting flow of things going on. Our week started off great with an exchange with the elders in Wells and then afterwards a lot of good lessons. We recently haven't been having a whole lot of sit down, focused up, ready to teach kind of lessons. They've been on the fly and hard to really get across to people. We have a new friend we've been teaching who wants to be baptized! His name is George and he is sup...
