Week 61

Muy buenos días a todos!

Another week on the mission! Holy smokes, this one was all over the place! However, that's good right? We need change and to be thrown up in the air and tossed around a little bit sometimes right? It's a part of what being in life is all about and I definitely had this week! Like I mentioned last week, ya boy received a new companion who is a brand new missionary! He is fresh out of the MTC from Mexico! His name is Elder Kroff and he is from eagle mountain Utah. Man, I can't stop getting companions from Utah! He is awesome, he's got some great desires to help others come unto Christ and teach the restored Gospel in Spanish!

When they tell you you're going to train a new missionary, they did not say it was going to be this hard! Man I feel so much weight on my shoulders all the time and I have so many things I just want to cram into his brain, but I can't because his head would explode. It has been a bit tougher this week because of how much I really run things. There are times I forget and say, "Oh, he doesn't know about this" or "He has never seen this before" so it has been a big adjustment for me especially. As well as being the one with the Spanish, I've been helping him learn a lot and talk with the people we teach. That's been fun, but like I said I haven't really been the leader of the companionship since being on my mission! It's a great adjustment and I know that I can do it and I will through The Lord!

Élder Rawlings and I drove down to Reno on Tuesday night to stay over and pick up my new companion and for him to go home. However, on Monday night Élder Rawlings thought it would be good to go out with a BANG and a member gave us the hottest chip challenge. Élder Rawlings ate it and I have a 10 minute plus video of him suffering from the hottest chip. If you want to see it just email me and I'll send you the link.

A week full of success is what follows after diligence! Élder Kroff and I got after it this week and we really just went hard. We found a lot of new people and were able to teach some great lessons. Élder Kroff has such a good desire to teach and spread the Gospel. The greenie fire!! It's exciting to see and have back in my mind and heart. We had a lot of lessons fall through though so it crushed my heart when he would get pretty discouraged. But that's how it goes! As missionaries we face opposition very often and all we can do is just do what we can to overcome it.

I've learned a lot in just 5 days of training a new missionary. I thought it was hard being trained but man being the trainer is harder! I know Christ is completely aware of all that I'm going through and is standing by my side at all times. I also know without a doubt that I was put here in this mission to serve the people here at this time. I cannot even begin to explain to you all the manifestations and answers from God that I've received telling me I was needed in a certain place. The mission is great, I love my Savior and my Father in Heaven! I can't wait to have another week of serving Him, even if it is hard. Hope y'all have a great week! Be safe and feel free to reach out!

D&C 98:3 - Therefore, he giveth this promise unto you, with an immutable covenant that they shall be fulfilled; and all things wherewith you have been afflicted shall work together for your good, and to my name’s glory, saith the Lord.
