Week 87

To the Recipients of this email,       I would like to start this email by addressing the boring manner in which I have described my mission these past few weeks. My "funny bone" has been deteriorating from lack of exercise here on the mission. I will try my best to ensure this email promotes a smile or a chuckle of some sort. If it doesn't, read it again. Sincerely,      Elder Cole LaTour This week was a really interesting week! We first off started by buying 3 honeydews and a cantaloupe, so you know that it was going to be good. We were able to meet with some of our progressing friends which is always a hoot. Sometimes I wonder if we get too close with them because they confide in us a little too much. I never expected to hear so many love-stories, medical histories, or crazy theories from people I met 30 seconds ago. Do we shine a light because we are missionaries or does my cologne smell really good? I am going to go with the go...

Week 86

Hello everybody! This week was another one for the books, haha. I felt so drained by Sunday, and I am so happy today is Monday! We had three exchanges last week, and every single day we had with them was an absolute BLAST! I get to learn from so many missionaries. I love it so much. The weather is being weird over here again; it was 70 degrees last week, and now we are sitting at a nice 54 as today's high. That's Nevada for ya. A lot of the experiences I had this week were eye-opening and helped me build my understanding of the gospel principle "Enduring to the End." My first exchange last week started on Monday night, and the weather was so beautiful! I went with Elder Rhoades, and something so fun was that we went to this apartment complex, prayed to know where to go, and next thing I know, we are almost running from door to door trying to share the gospel. It may have seemed weird from a different perspective of these two white guys in white shirts and ties running...

Week 85

Hey everybody! Oh man, what a week! Every night I can say that right as my head hit the pillow I was OUT. Haha I have been loving my new area and all the fun stuff going on in it. We have seen a lot of success in finding new people to teach and as well getting our friends to church! This transfer has flown by too which makes it so hard to believe that it is already April. These past few days the weather has been absolutely amazing! I walk outside and I don't have to mentally brace myself for the cold anymore haha. We have a chance to be flooding here in the Reno area because of how much snow we have gotten these past few months. We wanted water and now that we got some, we have too much!  Oh well This week we had Zone Conference down in Carson City! I really do miss being down there. It's cool to see how much progress a city makes over time! I'm sure back home there is some new stuff I won't recognize but even in the short year I've been away from Carson City there ...

Week 84

How is it going everybody?! Yeah so since I'm in an English Area now I figure I gotta keep my theme of the introductions the same soooo now you all can understand them! This week was definitely a crazy one, but nothing was thrown that I couldn't handle with Christ by my side!  First off, this week was transfer week. We had a lot to do in order to make sure it all went smoothly and that everyone got to where they needed to be. With Heavenly Father's help and some hard work everyone is now in their areas nice and cozy ready to spread the word. We had a lot of areas splitting and combining and so that was a lot of fun to go and talk to the missionaries and gain a better knowledge of the mission as a whole! God is so good too because every night I found myself depleted of energy, but still with a smile! We had some fantastic teaching opportunities this week and I can truly say there is nothing better. Ever since I've come to this area I've seen a change in how I view th...
