Week 85
Hey everybody!
Oh man, what a week! Every night I can say that right as my head hit the pillow I was OUT. Haha I have been loving my new area and all the fun stuff going on in it. We have seen a lot of success in finding new people to teach and as well getting our friends to church! This transfer has flown by too which makes it so hard to believe that it is already April. These past few days the weather has been absolutely amazing! I walk outside and I don't have to mentally brace myself for the cold anymore haha. We have a chance to be flooding here in the Reno area because of how much snow we have gotten these past few months. We wanted water and now that we got some, we have too much! Oh well
This week we had Zone Conference down in Carson City! I really do miss being down there. It's cool to see how much progress a city makes over time! I'm sure back home there is some new stuff I won't recognize but even in the short year I've been away from Carson City there were a lot of changes. At Zone Conference we talked about a new opportunity we've been given as missionaries to teach all the youth in our ward! I am so excited to go and teach all the youth because I wish that I had that happen when I was younger. We got to get started this week because we only have 2 months to get through everyone! I'm so excited
My area is nuts. We have been finding a ton of people to teach and man it's great. Since it's warmer there are a lot more people out and that means more people to talk to! We met this father and his son in my new favorite apartment complex. It's so sketchy and every time we go, we end up setting another appointment for a couple days out. The Father told us that he loves science so much he named his son Quantum. Yeah. That's sick. He wasn't about the Book of Mormon however. We have some cool progressing friends that we are working with pretty closely. English wards are so much different and the member work is amazing haha.
Easter was phenomenal and was a great time of reflection and thought in Christ and His Resurrection! What a gift that we've been given! How great it is to know that our souls are consoled in the fact that He overcame death so that the sting would be gone. Our Easter service had a fantastic musical number and it really had me thinking of His life and all that was done for each of us. I want to celebrate Easter better and more fully as I get older because the attitude of Easter should carry through throughout the year as should Christmas. I'm so grateful for my Savior and all that He has done for me, I still got more time to go and Preach this special message!
God is good. Missionary work is great. I'm tired, but I've never been happier. I feel so fulfilled everyday as I help people come unto Christ. I hope you all are well! Be safe!
Mosiah 16:7-8
And if Christ had not risen from the dead, or had broken the bands of death that the grave should have no victory, and that death should have no sting, there could have been no resurrection.
But there is a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ
