Week 58

Muy buenos días!     I hope you all had a great week. It's cooling down and it's definitely starting to become fall! I can't believe that it's getting to that point. I love the fall because it brings back so many good memories and all the exciting things of something new!     Man, this week... Was rough. I haven't said this in a while I don't think! If I have, then shoot sorry. But it is good to have weeks that just aren't as good. It helps us grow, learn, and gives us more opportunities to call on the divine help of our Heavenly Father. Saturday was the day where my companion and I both were visibly struggling. We had no success in any sort of way the entire day. No answered contacts, no lessons, no finds, nothing. We came back around 8:30ish too because no one was outside. I just remember coming back to the apartment and staring at the ceiling waiting for the day to be done. However, like I said... It's a time to grow and learn. I'm grateful for th...

Week 57

Pues, que pasó esta semana?     Man, this was a week. I wish I could express more of what I mean by that... it can be hard to do that over the phone so hopefully you all get what I mean. It was a successful week! It was tiring but really good. The weather is starting to cool down and we even saw a few days of rain here so the people of Elko are super happy! I have been reflecting this past week of the role of a missionary today and back then in the time of Christ and even beforehand. Missionaries play such an important role and brining the knowledge of the Savior to others that may not know Him! I am very privileged to be here and be a part of this work. Now, let's get into some highlights of what happened this past week here in Elko, Nevada!     First and most important, our awesome friend Axel was baptized! Man, it was so awesome to see everything pan out the way it did. We had so many problems come up. We couldn't do it in the river because of the rain, the people...

Week 56

Como andan?!     Hey everyone! Man, this week was... Tiring! My companion and I don't know what it was, but we were just trucked every single night. I guess that's a good thing because that means we are working hard out here! It's been an interesting weather change as well. When we went out running this week I was about to freeze to death! Such a huge change, but hey winter was bound to come. We fortunately had a lot of success this week in finding some new people to teach! These past few weeks it's been hard to find some new people but this week we were able to find a lot of new friends to share the Gospel with!     Last night we had a great lesson with our friend raymundo. He is truly progressing and he even went to church when we weren't there! We were at the branch up on the Indian reservation yesterday and he still came to church without us! It's such a great step and definitely in the right direction. He is a slow learner so we have to teach some things ov...

Week 55

Como andan? Ojalá que esten bien!      Man, this week was really hot. I remember looking at the weather this week and my heart sank to the floor! It has been 99 all week and man, Satan is trying hard to keep us from the work. Not a whole lot of people are outside, missionaries are tired from the heat... But we keep on moving forward! Just drink some water, say a lot of prayers, and get to work! Just a few days ago Élder Rawlings looked at me while we were walking around and just let all of his complaints out. We both laughed after, but man I was really nervous because he was super upset. It's definitely healthy to do that though, so I was happy he did. The weather can be a tough variable to get around, but I know without a doubt that we can fulfill our missionary purpose regardless of what happens with the world around us!     This week was transfer week! I didn't move so I didn't do much right? Wrong. Élder Rawlings and I ended up doing quite a bit. We first mo...
