Week 58

Muy buenos días!

I hope you all had a great week. It's cooling down and it's definitely starting to become fall! I can't believe that it's getting to that point. I love the fall because it brings back so many good memories and all the exciting things of something new!

Man, this week... Was rough. I haven't said this in a while I don't think! If I have, then shoot sorry. But it is good to have weeks that just aren't as good. It helps us grow, learn, and gives us more opportunities to call on the divine help of our Heavenly Father. Saturday was the day where my companion and I both were visibly struggling. We had no success in any sort of way the entire day. No answered contacts, no lessons, no finds, nothing. We came back around 8:30ish too because no one was outside. I just remember coming back to the apartment and staring at the ceiling waiting for the day to be done. However, like I said... It's a time to grow and learn. I'm grateful for that day because it helps me appreciate the good ones!

We had zone conference this week and it was pretty good. This was the highlight of the week I would say! My mission president is so awesome. He intimidates a lot of people but man all I can say is I love him to death! We had some great training and we ended up making a video to help explain the importance of daily planning. It was a great conference and afterwards since the assistants were up here we did exchanges! I went with Élder Montgomery and man I loved it! He is an awesome missionary and we had a great time and he taught me a lot. He's from Texas so he's got that accent.

My companion and I were going to a lesson this week and we got a call from our mission president. He Calls and asks us if he can stop by our apartment and drop something off, then inspect it. We of course agreed and had no time to go home earlier and clean up some stuff. I'm sitting there in the car sweating bullets because I was sure it wasn't clean enough. We get there and we see them parked outside really to go in. My companion and I opened the door and the apartment was fairly clean! We must have cleaned it fairly well before we left for dinner, but I think the part of me that's more like my mom came out, then on our mission wide announcement zoom they both said our apartment was in perfect condition and ours should be the example for everyone HAHAHAH! I was thinking the whole time how dirty I thought it was... But I'm glad they thought it was great! I must have high standards I guess

Hey, you win some and you lose some. There are good days and bad days. Successful weeks and weeks that aren't so much. However, I couldn't be more grateful for what I got. We keep going forward, nothing stops us, the work progresses. I've shared with my companion a little trick I've learned throughout life. When you feel a negative feeling such as anger, sadness, disappointment, discouragement, whatever it may be... Give yourself a maximum of 2 minutes to feel it and express it. Then after that, you're done! It's a healthy thing to express it but we can't dwell on it.

I love the mission, I love this work, and I love my Savior Jesus Christ! I hope your week went well. It's been a crazy ride but I wouldn't do it any other way. We go back to Reno this upcoming week, which feels like we just went! Have a great week, feel free to reach out to me! Be safe!
