Week 92

Kamusta! Kamusta kayong lahat? Yeah, that's Tagalog! We met a Filipino family this week and that's literally all they taught me from Tagalog so I am now officially trilingual. This week was a really busy week! I honestly feel like I say that every week... oh well! We have been doing some great work here in the area and I have been so grateful for how much the Lord has helped us out. We have depended a lot on prayer and the power that comes from it is INSANE. Literally every second that we can, we pray. It just is so helpful and let me tell you, that guiding hand in my life really helps. This week we put our friend Crystal on date! Unfortunately, I wasn't there myself but my companion and another elder went by and had a great conversation with her and she expressed the desire to make a covenant with her Heavenly Father! So crazy because the work is just moving so fast. It is one person after another that is just prepared to receive the Gospel. It really isn't me that is ...

Week 91

Hello! Man, this week was absolutely CRAZY! I have loved being a missionary, and man, I can't get enough of this. I have been coming back to our apartment just floored and ready to hit the bed and clock out. That's always a sign that we're working hard and getting after it every day.  May 20th will go down in history as the day that THE Rachel Sparks entered into the waters of baptism. That was so exciting! She walked in, and she was so excited to make this promise. After she was baptized, she gasped as she came up from the water, and she said that she felt something SO strong, and I could feel it too. What an honor it is to be in the water with these people and to feel the eagerness that is within them. I always feel the Spirit just tackle me because of how true this is. On exchanges, we were walking on 6th street here in Reno at the Easy Inn Motel. My safety is only slightly at risk as I walk around. However, we see this door that's cracked a little bit, and inside is...

Week 90

Wow! Another week goes by, I guess. The time has been getting faster and faster! Next thing I know, it's the 90th week of my mission, and I only have 12 left. Gosh, is that real? Only 12 of these emails left? Haha, thanks for bearing with me through all 90 emails I have sent out. Hopefully, you can hang on for just 12 more! We had a very busy week, but let me tell you, it was another one saved for life. Since it was transfers this week, we were VERY busy. It is like the most stressful yet most exciting week I wait for every transfer. There are so many moving parts and so many things to do, it makes the time pass by so fast! I said goodbye to my dear companion Elder Neville. His Kendama skills are going to be missed greatly. I still have my good friend Elder Oakes though! We have gotten along quite well and have seen some great success so far in the work. Our friend Rachel is going to be baptized this Saturday! I cannot wait to see her make this covenant with her Heavenly Father. I ...

Week 89

Hey Everybody! Man, this week was soo crazy! I have loved being here in this area so much and I am praying that the weather gets better so these last few months will just be an absolute grind. I have received a new companion! His name is Elder Oakes. We have served around each other before in Elko and have gone on a few exchanges so I am really pumped for this next transfer! We have some really good stuff looking up, but I am coming near the end of my mission so this is weird. First off, Rachel Sparks. Our dear friend! She is locked in for May 20th in order to be baptized! We have been working so hard with her and she has done SO well. It has been such a wild ride with her but she has gotten to this point by the Strength of God! We were talking just the other day and we made sure that she was all squared away, and we asked her what else she was holding back. She mentions that she still has some weed with her. My companion and I looked at each other and said, "Cough it up." He...

Week 88

Yet again, another week passes. Okay so in my last email I tried to be funny but I am going to be honest with you all, I am not quite sure how I can keep this up. I think the longer I have been on my mission, the more my humor deteriorates... or maybe I don't have enough of that good smelling cologne anymore. Oh well. We had a road trip this past week which was so hype. Tuesday afternoon we packed up and drove to Elko! Back to my old stomping grounds. I got there and remembered that it is still the small town I remember it being! On our way up to Elko we stopped at this pizza place in the armpit of America. Wait sorry, Battle Mountain is the correct name to use. Ironically, the armpit of America has the best tasting pizza in the entire world. A combo I never thought would ever take hold of me...  We also ended up driving to Ely, Nevada! Have you ever heard of it before? I don't expect you to because man that place is tiny. We pulled in and I was so excited to do some missionary...
