Week 91

Hello! Man, this week was absolutely CRAZY! I have loved being a missionary, and man, I can't get enough of this. I have been coming back to our apartment just floored and ready to hit the bed and clock out. That's always a sign that we're working hard and getting after it every day. 

May 20th will go down in history as the day that THE Rachel Sparks entered into the waters of baptism. That was so exciting! She walked in, and she was so excited to make this promise. After she was baptized, she gasped as she came up from the water, and she said that she felt something SO strong, and I could feel it too. What an honor it is to be in the water with these people and to feel the eagerness that is within them. I always feel the Spirit just tackle me because of how true this is.

On exchanges, we were walking on 6th street here in Reno at the Easy Inn Motel. My safety is only slightly at risk as I walk around. However, we see this door that's cracked a little bit, and inside is this man on the phone, and his wife is sitting on the bed. We start a conversation with his wife, and eventually, this man puts the phone down and comes over to us. He starts with, "I just put my 14 Billion dollar client on hold to talk to you guys." I'm sitting there like… because people here wouldn't put down a spam call if it meant not talking to us. He begins to tell us that he is a multi-billion-dollar international businessman and meets with Elon Musk every morning for coffee and breakfast. Again, I'm still sitting here like this…. We began to introduce the Book of Mormon and offered him one, which he gladly accepted. Then we asked for a return appointment, and of course, our friend here was actually meeting with Elon Musk this weekend to give him the Book of Mormon! Classic. We then asked, "If we gave you an extra copy, would you give it to him?" He smiles and gladly says, "Absolutely." Then next thing I know, my companion for the day is writing frantically his name and a note for the one and only Elon Musk. I sign it, of course, because who knows, maybe a multi-billion-dollar international businessman can live in a motel on 6th street here in Reno! Catch me when I'm famous and dunking Elon.

Gosh darn it, I can't believe it's almost summer! Well, I feel like it's here already. The weather is HOT, and I'm loving it. People are out (sometimes with 0-no clothing) and still don't seem too interested in our message! But we keep going, keep teaching, keep baptizing.

This past week, I focused a lot on the Book of Mormon and why it's so important. I love it! I've come to know it's true on so many occasions in my life, and my mission within itself is one of them. Every time that I hand someone a Book of Mormon, the joy and Spirit I feel is undeniable. These people now have access to know if the Restored Gospel is here again on the earth! No matter how many times people have rejected me and what I have said, it doesn't stop me from how much I love this work and what the results of it are!! If anything, I've learned out here, don't let others ruin what you believe!! Hahaha, a simple truth, but it goes a long way :)
