Week 62

Como andan mis compás?!

You know you would think since I was in Nevada last year that I'm used to the weather changes and the seasons, no. It went from 75 degree afternoons walking around in a short sleeve white shirt to absolutely pouring snow in 30 degree weather. I love Nevada so much!

This week was good! Élder Kroff and I were able to get to know each other more and develop that comp unity. He is an awesome Élder and has that fire that all the missionaries have when they come out of the mtc. I love it. I've been teaching him a lot just of the basics still out here in missionary work and man j forgot how much stuff there actually is! To me back then it wasn't all too complicated but now that I look at it, it is. We are always having a good time joking around so we are getting along well! He likes to run too so we've been able to go and run outside in the mornings which has been really nice!

We had some trouble this week getting into homes of those we are teaching. They seemed to be busy or just not interested in having us in. That is okay because it happens all the time to us, and when someone says yes it's that much better! Élder Kroff and I were able to have a cool experience while doing our companionship study together just yesterday. We were walking on this path and just talking about our studies we've been having and we saw this gentleman with a dog walking by. For some reason I had an urge to stop and talk to this guy right in the middle of our comp study. We stopped and we talked to him and we asked if we could share a unique message with him. He happily agreed! It was so cool because I knew without a doubt that we needed to talk to him at that exact time!

This week we had exchanges with the Elders out in Wells. They are about an hour out from Elko in a small town and they seemed to be struggling a little bit with teaching. As well, the trainee over there is a reassigned missionary originally supposed to be in Colombia. I was able to take him out and we were using our Spanish and such. We had a great lesson with two of our friends Ulises and Joel! We taught them the Gospel of Jesus Christ and read about the classic 2 Nephi 31. At the end we looked at them and said, "Well, do you want eternal life?" They pause, then they both look at us with wide eyes and smiles. I add, "with your family?" Of course, the smiles were bigger and eyes were wider. "Then you got to be baptized," we said. Super cool experience and right now they are thinking about this awesome decision to receive eternal life! Super cool moment and I love those guys.

I sure am grateful for everyday I have out here on the mission. It's a wild ride and sometimes I get close to calling it. However, my love for Jesus Christ and His Gospel is far too great to give any of this up. For anyone who is going through something difficult I have a little tip for you. I was introduced to this by a fellow missionary just a month or so ago. I want you to picture yourself in your favorite place ever. The beach, the mountains, your room, Disneyland, wherever. Now once you've got that place pictured, put Jesus Christ sitting or standing next to you. Focus on the feelings you have when He is next to you. Hopefully that helps because it sure helps me! Gosh dang the mission is great and nothing is better. I hope you all are well! Have a great week next week and feel free to reach out! Be safe!

D&C 104:14-15 -

I, the Lord, stretched out the heavens, and built the earth, my very handiwork; and all things therein are mine.

And it is my purpose to provide for my saints, for all things are mine.
