Week 11
¡Hola a todos!
I'm going to just keep my greetings in Spanish because I don't want to make anyone who doesn't know Spanish to feel bad! (Just kidding, my Spanish isn't very good either)
How are you wonderful people doing?! Another solid week in the Sierra branch here in Reno, Nevada! Lots of fun times and some hard times! Just before I tell you all a little about my week, I want to share something I've learned. It's okay to be absolutely ticked, mad, upset, tired, or whatever the feeling may be! This week I've experienced some times where my top was about to blow, for various reasons, but what I always seem to remember is the love of my Savior. At the moment, I might not understand why things are going the way they are or why someone said the things they said. However, through the perfect example of Christ I can forgive and get over it. I'm so grateful for the example of my Savior! My testimony is growing tremendously and I couldn't be more happy with this work I am doing.
Okay! I kind of like this list I did last week so I'm going to do it again because it's kind of fun!
- The sunrises/sunsets in Reno are beautiful. I get to take pictures of them a lot. Christ made us this beautiful earth and I'm so grateful for that! It's not as good as Utah, but I'm going to take what I can get!
-It was Halloween! Me and my companion decided to just trick or treat! Nope. Totally kidding! We went out and gave candy to some kids and had wonderful conversations about God and how our lives have changed! You never know who you might talk to these days!
- Exchanges!! Yes that is right, I had my first exchange with our Zone Leaders. Since my companion and I are in a "Sistrict" we don't go on any for obvious reasons. However, they went amazing! I went with Elder Hardman. He is from Lehi, Utah and plays the guitar. I had the privilege to help him make a music video! Yeah, I'm going to be in a music video guys. I'm totally kidding, but he had me help! We also had some amazing lessons which I'm grateful for his help. Since I'm green as freak, he helped me gain some more confidence and jumped out of my comfort zone! Also, the night before we absolutely clowned our friend Elder Nuñez. He is 23 years old so we stayed up till 2am (don't tell anyone) just asking him questions about his dating life. He gave me several great tips and I couldn't be more grateful. I was nervous to do Exchanges... but it turned out great!
- We had a trunk or treat! It was so dope. We dressed up as Hawaiian elders! We can't dress up so we just put glow sticks and sunglasses on. It went super well! We had some of the families who were teaching come and they seemed to have lots of fun! It was a great time to kind of chill and get in a good mood! I find myself in places where I can get frustrated or upset with myself. Here, I was able to do what I do best... be an absolute clown! The kids loved me haha that's all that matters!
- I was complimented on my Spanish! Someone asked me if I was Native! I am not sure why because my complexion screams white American boy... but I will take it! I'm getting more confident.
- filmed Trickshot Thursday! I read a super dope scripture and invited anyone who watches it to do something awesome. Go peep it out on my Facebook!
That's pretty much it! This is getting pretty long so I don't want to drag it out too long, but just know how much I love this work! Getting up every morning and putting on this tag brings me so much joy. I hope you all are doing well! Feel free to reach out to me! Be safe!
Mark 13:11 - But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost
