Week 13
Good morning/afternoon/evening everyone!!
You already know. Another week here in Reno, Nevada!! Transfers happened. People have come and gone! I have a new companion!! Yay! His name is Elder Christen. He likes D&D, he likes to sleep in, he plays the ukulele, and is 24 years old!! Haha I don't know much about him yet. He is WAY different from my old comp hahaha. So this week was mostly me getting adjusted to him. I'm also not going to lie to all of you, this week was definitely one of the hardest weeks I've had out here. I just want you all to know that it's okay to say you're struggling. I love seeing all these amazing happy emails back home, but it's not all amazing and happy all the time. Sometimes, we struggle and feel sad or frustrated. THAT'S OKAY! Anyways, little rant hahaa. So yes, I'm going to be honest. I struggled this week, but I've been able to find the good and the happy throughout. Through Christ, I've been able to see eternal joy. I've also remembered my purpose as a missionary. It's to SERVE and to TEACH. Not to make friends, goof around, and be comfortable all the time. (Of course, these are perks) So, to get on a more happy note... let's look at some highlights!!
- The girls were teaching... one of them had a birthday! She turned 9 years old! She is a bundle of joy and her desire to follow Christ is so amazing to see. They have humbled me so much ever since I've met them!
- Since I have a new companion and he is new..
I'm leading this area! That's right everyone, your boy is leading an area only a month and a half into the mission! I'm excited because this area is mine!! I know everyone and it's kind of fun introducing myself to everybody!
- We are being fed out here. I don't think I've had dinner at our apartment for a while now! I don't know what kicked into this branch, but they are going crazy!
- I am continuing to love this missionary work. I know it's only been a month and a half of me being here but the fire in my heart is still going. I love testifying and teaching. It's amazing!!
- someone offered us Weed and I declined (Not going to lie, it probably would've helped me with my new comp though)
- A suspect was shot only 3 streets away from me. RENO BABY!!!
That's a few of the highlights of this week! Haha Reno is awesome. The area I'm in is awesome and we're seeing some people with promise! Their eagerness to know their Heavenly Father is amazing. God loves all of you! Feel free to reach out to me. Be safe!
