Week 22

Buenos días a todos!!!

Yo what's good everybody! Here's to another sick week in the good ol' Reno Nevada! Still speaking Spanish like a beast! I'm really loving it here. People say it's ugly but I'm starting to like it! The sunrises/sunsets, parks, buildings, and people are so interesting. I feel like this week was really long...but literally it was 7 days ago that I wrote my last email. I'm glad it ended up being that way because I'm soaking up every minute of being on my mission! Anyways, I'm gonna give you a run down of my week in a kind of, sort of, maybe, not really organized way!!

First, my Spanish is excelling. I'm able to make contacts and conversation out the wazoo! I feel so confident with my skills in my Spanish and I feel like I can actually start doing things without a language barrier! It's been really fun too to see all these Latinos turn their heads so fast after the whitest American boy speaks to you in Spanish. Always gives me a good laugh. Anyways, if you were to plop me in Mexico... I think I'd be okay! (which says a lot because I've got friends right now who are in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, México, and other places sooo)

A lot of self reflection this week! I've been diving into the Book of Mormon a lot more, especially recently because of my goal that I've set of reading the Book of Mormon everyday for all of 2022! I've really been able to see the blessings of true study and the mornings where I read the Scriptures has been my favorite part of the day. What a small yet incredible change in my daily attitude and actions!

Lots of work this week! We visited some inactive members and then some investigator work! Cool story actually, we visited this inactive member we've never met! He answered and invited us in. We got to know him a little more and it turns out that he has a girlfriend that lives with him! Even cooler, she wants to be a member of our church! We asked to meet her and she literally is ready for baptism! She's been taught everything and we just need to work a few things out. What a cool little miracle!!

My friend Alan is progressing so much! He's not my investigator, but we will pop by in lessons with him sometimes. Man, do I love him! He is so funny, so kind, so humble, and so willing to learn. I can joke around and have fun with him, but I can also testify to him of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and this Church. It's so amazing, but he keeps giving me Star Wars stuff. I didn't even say I liked Star Wars! I don't know how he knew! Anyways, he came to a baptism this week and loved it. We asked him if it was something he'd want to do. He said yes! He said eventually he wants to be baptized! Better than a no!! Amazing miracles with him.

Overall, I'm enjoying my mission so much. There are really hard days but they are some really amazing ones. It's all a part of Heavenly Father's work. It's not supposed to be easy and it will shape us. So grateful for everyday I have to be out here. Transfers are coming up in two weeks... So I guess we will find out if I leave this time or not! I've been in this area a while soooo a change would be nice! Hope you all are well. Feel free to reach out to me! Ten cuidado!
