Week 23

Hey!!! What's going on everybody!!

This week was another one for the books!! Full of missionary work and miracles! Actually though, it was lots of fun. This transfer is almost over! Next week I'll have transfer news so I'll know if I'm staying even LONGER or if I leave! Who knows... Dios sabe! I would like a change though... I have been in this area for a while! Almost 5 months of my mission I've been here! I have been telling everyone in the mission I wanna be "exiled" and put out into the most secluded area in the mission. This is my master plan so it never happens. I'm a few steps ahead! Hahaha just kidding, but there are a few spots opening up in Sparks and Tahoe so... If you see me posted up next to a lake this spring don't be surprised!!

My personal studies have been really good as of late! I have been studying heavily in the Book of Mormon which has been awesome! Then in my free time I have been reading Jesus The Christ and the 4 Gospels in the New Testament. It's a lot of reading but I'm really loving it! Something I've recently started doing is collecting the different versions of the Bibles! I obviously have my King James Version one which I love and I also have an English Standard Version thanks to my awesome friend!! So I hope my collection grows! Just saying, there is power in reading the scriptures. Ever since I've come out here... My desire to read and learn has significantly increased. I'm a total nerd now what the heck. The mission does that to you I guess...

Absolute miracle this week! My best friend Alan is on date!! He will be baptized on February 26th so mark your calendars!! He gave us a call when my companion and I were getting back from a long day. I answer the call and I see the Hermanas with him. Of course, I correctly assumed they had just had a lesson together. He goes... "Vamos a tener una fiesta" (we're going to have a party) and then I go, "Por que? No es su cumpleaños..." (why? It's not your birthday...) and he comes back with "para mi bautismo" that part is self explanatory but needless to say I was absolutely thrilled. I jumped off the walls! Absolutely perfect timing for him. His heart is so pure and his desire to change is even more so. Just wanted to share that with y'all because even in the least desired part of the United States (Next to New Mexico, that place is worse sorry) people can come closer to Christ.

Had exchanges this week with my boy Elder Creech! He is from Cornish Utah which is north east of Logan Utah. I've never heard of Cornish so if any of you know what I'm talking about without looking it up, you're weird. We had lots of fun together. We did some service at the local car museum (Which has a 24k gold plated delorean by the way) and lots and lots of contacts! He is such a good guy and I loved being with him.

As this transfer comes to an end, I've realized how much I've grown. As I've shared in the past few weeks, I have struggled with my companion, my Spanish, and my confidence in the work. However, I've seen so much progress now that I look back and I couldn't be more grateful for that. My Father in Heaven has made me so much more! Through Christ and his Atonement I have also been made someone better. I love talking about these things to everyone who is willing to hear! What a unique time to be a missionary. This world is spiraling into something scary but I can promise to all of you there is Hope in Christ and answers to your questions. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or wanna talk! Be safe y'all because covid be rampant right now!

2 Nephi 16:8 - Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then I said: Here am I; send me.
