Week 28
Muy buenos días a todos!!!
Everybody!!! This week was awesome sauce good time. Carson city is becoming more and more elect each week. We've got some weird weather but overall it's been sunny and warm! Reno will have my heart but Carson city!! It's really cool.
This week was amazing with our work. We have been really grinding everyday! I have found myself absolutely loving talking to these people. You would think 6 months into my mission I'd be a legend at talking to people... Nope! That is wrong. I'm still an awkward white boy speaking Spanish. However, it doesn't stop me! I'm very determined to bring The Restored Gospel to those here in Carson City!
Also, just this Saturday I had the most wonderful opportunity of baptizing my bestestestest friend Alan. It was probably so far the highlight of my mission. Just seeing his progression has been such an amazing experience. We teach him lessons, but in reality he has taught me so much more. Of course, I was absolutely shaking nervous to baptize him so he would give me little pokes to make sure I was okay. As I began to say the words to baptize him, I choked up a little. I have no clue why! I almost broke into tears and realized that I was literally helping my bestestestest friend Alan make his first covenant with Heavenly Father. What an honor it was to be a part of it. After I baptized him, he looked at me and hugged me. He hugged me in the font for I swear 30 seconds. The spirit was so strong that entire time. I can't put the feelings I felt into words but just trust me when I say it was Celestial.
Had exchanges with my Zone Leader, Élder Stanton. He goes home on this transfer so he gave me some sweet words of advice. We had a few really good lessons and taught some amazing people. It was all in English which made it easier, but I really love Spanish work. I do, hopefully, want to speak Spanish my entire time in the Mission because it's an honor and I'm so grateful. Stanton is such a genuine guy and I love it! He does have a girlfriend waiting at home for him right now! Good for him right? Not good for any other missionary around him. He loves to show pictures, tell stories, and give "advice." It was a great time and we got along well!
Well, that was the highlight of my week. I'm loving this work and the amazing things that happen everyday. I will admit though, I do miss my family and friends but it's a worthy sacrifice to be here. I have loved gaining a bigger and better testimony of This Gospel. Feel free to reach out to me! Be safe!
Mosiah 21:14 - And they did humble themselves even in the depths of humility; and they did cry mightily to God; yea, even all the day long did they cry unto their God that he would deliver them out of their afflictions.
