Week 38

Bueno bueno bueno!!!

GUYS. This week was probably one of the most hype weeks of my mission! I don't know why but it just was filled with so many experiences and absolute GOATED spiritual guidance. Sooooo I'm gonna tell some awesome stories and I hope yall enjoy!

First, we had the amazing opportunity to go on a bike ride with our homeboy Marcos! He invited us to go and ride some bikes around Carson City! We met up and when we saw his bike... Oh. My. Gosh. It was the most beautiful bike I have ever seen. He pulled it out of the trunk and it was a low rider bike absolutely decked out with some swirly looking metal parts and a stuffed animal sitting at the front with a cross around its neck. It was so much fun to be biking around with him! He actually had a deep talk to us about how he's been doing and it was incredible to see his progression from where he's been. God truly can forge us into something when we let Him!

We got invited to do some service this week and this convert had us do some yard work. Yeah, yard work! I actually enjoyed it, anyways, we cleared out a bit of his backyard for some planting but he loves to talk to us while we work. While we working clearing the weeds he looks at me and asks, "Have you seen my bowling ball?" I look over to my companion and quietly reply with, "Um, no." As I said that he pulls out a bowling ball case. I'm looking at it thinking, wow that is super cool he must really like bowling. Then he pulls it out. I look at the bowling ball and it has a chain attached to the end of it and a pair of lips painted on it. He looks at us and says, "I was a debt collector. I have knocked down over 30 doors with this bowling ball." you know in the cartoons when the characters make the kind of gulp noise when something crazy is about to happen? I'm pretty sure I imitated that noise perfectly. It was so funny but man I was a little scared! Carson city baby!!

Another awesome super sick and cool moment of this week was as Loria and I were tracting we saw the ambulances and fire trucks just Chillin outside this house. As we got closer we look and see that their ladder is extended to the trees! I look up and guess what I saw. You might be Thinking, "A bird? A person? Someone's favorite kite?" Nope. A mountain lion. The thing was up in this 100ft tree just Chillin. They shot it with a tranquilizer dart and it just went straight to sleep. They got it down but I was amazed. It was just down in the deep Carson city suburbs trying to hangout and boom. Tranquilized and taken away. What a shame. A member was out looking at it too and he came over and said, "I would've shot it."

The mission is crazy fun. I've been so grateful to be out here serving the Lord. Its got its moments, but I wouldn't trade this for anything. I don't think I've ever laughed this hard these past two weeks. I have been enjoying my time with my new roommates and my companion. I know Heavenly Father watches over all of us and it's something that comforts me. Yesterday was Mother's Day and during church they talked a lot about the divine role of a mother. I can't express enough gratitude for what my mother has done for me. All of those mothers reading this, THANK YOU. You are an essential part of God's plan and what you do is so unique and so special. Im missing my mom, like usual, but I know that she is going to be there waiting to give me a big hug when I'm back! I hope you all are well. I'd love to hear from any of you so please don't be afraid to shoot me an email! I promise I'm fun to talk to! All of you are amazing.

Enjoy your week and remember that God loves you SOOO much! (and so do I)

The Plan of Salvation was something I was focusing on this week. The divinity of this Plan has brought me so much peace and love. A lot of those I've loved and have passed on, I have comfort knowing I can see them again. This Scripture talks about The Spirit Paradise we will go to after we die, if we are Righteous, and wait for the Resurrection! I just wanted to share this Scripture this week because I just think a lot of the time we can only see through a little tunnel, but God sees the whole picture. Quick little thought for you!!

Alma 40:12 - And then shall it come to pass, that the spirits of those who are righteous are received into a state of happiness, which is called paradise, a state of rest, a state of peace, where they shall rest from all their troubles and from all care, and sorrow.
