Week 40

Que lo que!!!!

How are we doing, everyone?! I hope the answer is either A. Fantastic or B. I'm good but it was a tough week

I only give you option B because it's okay to be sad but ultimately we got to keep pressing on! Unfortunately, I'd say this week was one of the longest and hardest weeks I've had so far. Now I know what you're thinking, "WHAT?! HOW IS IT SO?! HE SAID THESE LAST FEW WEEKS WERE AMAZING!" ladies and gentlemen, things can change.

No, in all seriousness it was a tough one. There was a lot of negativity and the adversary was definitely trying to get me and get me down. Missions are hard and they can sometimes beat you down. However a miracle this week was that I chose to just let myself be sad for 5 minutes, then I got back to work. It's something that my mom said I taught her, but if I'm honest I can't remember telling her that so I think she taught me. Anyways, that trick works! I would let myself feel sad/angry/confused/tired for 5 minutes then right after I got back up. I seriously want you guys to try this trick if you have a tough time because man it works well!

Despite all the badness, I can say that I did find something good every day. That is what is important because it's easy to slip down into sadness and anger. I have found that choosing to be happy is the best route. Entonces... We found 3 people this week! It was awesome because we haven't been able to find anyone in a while. We also had a lot of service and that was a ton of fun. We were ripping out tree stumps for a few days and it was a good switch up! It's getting hot here so tracting always comes with a good smell of BO when we get back home and that's when you know you've done well!

A quick little cosas chistosa that I wanted to share with y'all is that one of the homies in our apartment has shown a great interest in the movie cars. You know those little cars maybe you played with as a kid? Maybe got lightning McQueen or the cool Doc Hudson. Yeah pretty innocent? No. This homie is literally collecting them all. It was the funniest thing this week when he told us he spent $500 on cars and is going to put them in the apartment. I woke up one morning and went outside and I just saw a big track where he is going to race them. I don't know what's happening but hey, mission things!

This week I really studied The Holy Ghost and man. He is incredible. The amazing things and gifts were able to receive from Him are incredible. We should always strive to be worthy of His guidance so that we can make the right decisions, be in tune with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and be protected and inspired by His promptings. Super cool topic to study and I suggest you do so in your free time this week!

Well, weeks come and go at this point. Loving what I do and learning more each day. What an opportunity a mission is. I couldn't imagine myself anywhere else right now. It's a privilege to be out here serving my God and His people who need the Light of Christ. I hope this upcoming week is good for each and every one of you! Per usual, feel free to reach out to me! I kind of suck at reaching out too so maybe I should do that. Anyways, be safe!
