Week 44

Como andan mis amigos?!

I hope ustedes estén bien! This week was another really solid week full of absolutely crashed out nights and spiritually filled miracles! Élder LaDeaux is continuing to just absolutely hit the ground running and excelling in the area. It's been super fun to see how much potential so many people have with the message we carry! Like I said though, there were a lot of nights where I came back from the apartment and just hit the bed and called it a night. One morning I woke up in pros clothes... Oops. No but for real we've been working on a lot of things to get this area in tip top shape!

Man, I love being a missionary! There was some pretty cool stuff that happened this week. I went on two exchanges with some amazing Elders! My exchange with Elder Scott was really awesome. His companion and him were very close so it was hard for him to leave him. However we had a great time and were able to work super hard. He is funny and has the right intentions of being out here. My next exchange was with Elder Quist, and man it was good too. He was the Zone Leader last transfer here in Carson City and what I really like about him is that he is super loving. He always makes sure that you know you're loved and valued! He hypes you up and when he talks to people he is so genuine. I was able to learn a lot from these two missionaries so I'm so grateful for the time we had this past week.

We had a lot of lessons and finding time this past week. We were able to meet a lot of people! It's cool to see different life styles and different ways of thinking. You know, as missionaries were just trying to help others grow that faith in Jesus Christ and come closer to God. During the week, some people's faces would light up and just be so happy. The message that we have truly is that of hope and peace. We had a cool miracle this week. While we were walking around a neighborhood we had a feeling to go visit someone that Élder LaDeaux had met and taught in Spanish when he was in Carson city the first time. We went and the son answered the door. We had this riddle game thing we played with him. It was funny because I only knew the answer to the riddle. Eventually he began to express to us his concern of maybe being in the wrong religion and how he doesn't know which one is right. We of course taught him about the restoration and were able to give him a Book of Mormon for him to read. What a cool miracle and opportunity I had to be able to bare my testimony of the Restoration. Miracles happen we just need to work for them!

A lot of times this week we found ourselves being pushed away, denied, ignored, chastised, or even cussed out. I have found so much joy in the work and when times like that happen it has been easier for me to recover from it. It can be heartbreaking knowing that these people don't want to hear the uplifting message we have and then take it a step further and attempt to degrade our efforts or our feelings. Something I've learned since being out here is that God is watching us constantly. He knows what happens in every aspect of our life. I know that if I work hard then He will bless me for my efforts and I will be able to find that person who is ready to let God prevail in their life and truly be converted. It was tough in these aspects, but let me tell ya... Nothing beats the miracles you see out here.

Super grateful for this week and all of you who have had a chance to read my email. I hope you liked it! It's kind of everywhere, but what else do you expect from a half awake 19 year old boy? I really appreciate all of the love and care you are sending me. I send to all of you today my heart and my prayers to make sure you guys are okay! Feel free to reach out to me! Be safe!

3 Nephi 9:14 - Yea, verily I say unto you, if ye will come unto me ye shall have eternal life. Behold, mine arm of mercy is extended towards you, and whosoever will come, him will I receive; and blessed are those who come unto me.
