Week 70
¡Feliz Navidad mis compas!
Wow, Christmas has already passed?! I can't believe it went by so fast and even worse, the year is about to end! The mission is going by quicker and quicker every single week. I send you all an email. This past week was incredible and definitely was a highlight! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas remembering our Savior Jesus Christ.
Élder Bird and I in the month of December told 135 people the story of the birth of Jesus Christ! Well, 135 people said yes to a message. Isn't that number crazy?! Man, I can't believe we were able to do that. So cool to see how much the message of Christ can affect those around us. I loved sharing those messages out here in the Stead area.
Yesterday for Christmas I was very lucky to be able to have called my family. I can say this year definitely was harder than last year for many reasons, but seeing my family is what made it for me. I love the traditions and I love the gatherings. However, God has called me to this work and it has been the most fulfilling thing ever. Seeing my family's smiling faces as they opened gifts is something I long for every year. It has something special to it when someone opens a gift you've given them. You see the smile, you feel the Love, and you know that a small little gesture went a long way. We had a bomb dinner yesterday with members from our branch and enjoyed playing some games with them and the other missionaries in our branch. Afterwards, we went caroling to our friends in the area and we got some enthusiastic and emotional reactions which just warmed my heart.
The mission is crazy! I have been reflecting a lot on how I have just around 6 months left on my mission. I can't believe it! I want to make use of every minute that I have... But man it is hard to put into action. I have learned that daily commitments to the Lord is what will help you be consistently diligent. This new year carries a lot of potential for all of us to change and become a better Disciple of Jesus Christ. We can do it! I know YOU can do it. I am going to be pondering on some New Year's Goals this upcoming week and I invite all of you to do the same. We are all in this together!
Before I end this email there was a pretty cool thing that happened in a lesson. We are teaching this woman who is not much of a "shower of emotions" and kind of reminds me of my dad. However, we prayed and prayed and decided to teach her the first lesson, The Restoration. We taught it and I have never seen her smile so much! It was so cool to see how these simple truths we taught her brought happiness to her soul. I know that this message of hope and truth has inspired me everyday and it was so rewarding that someone else felt the same way too!
Have a fantastic week! Enjoy the new year and make sure to be safe on new years eve! Make some goals that will bring you closer to Jesus Christ and help you gain a better testimony of His Atonement and His Ministry. Be safe yall and please feel free to reach out!
Matthew 14:31 - And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
P.S. Here is a video one of my good friends made for the mission this Christmas. If you want a laugh, give it a watch. Feliz Navidad a todos! (your boy makes a feature)
