Week 73
Buenos días a todos de mis guachos!
Oh man, another week has flown by. I remember yesterday looking at the date and remembering, "How is it Sunday already?" Now here I am writing my 73rd email to all of you haha. I had a pretty good week! We had a lot of opportunities to teach and to find new people to talk to and inspire. I love the area I am in because there are so many different kinds of people and of course that comes with different situations. I just know that this Gospel message can heal whatever pain or sorrow people are going through.
I had a super cool experience this week on exchanges with Elder Bywater. We were walking around in the evening trying to visit some of the people we are teaching and seeing if we could share something with them. I had a prompting to go to one last door before we left the area and went and knocked this guy's door we found. He answered and we were shocked! They invited us in and we started to talk with the dad and I looked to my right and literally the entire family was eating dinner in their pajamas. I ask them, "Tienen más para compartir?" Or "Do you have more to share?" and of course, because I am a funny guy, they began to laugh. We asked them if we could share a message with them and they stopped their dinner and all sat around the couch with us as we taught them about Jesus Christ and His restored gospel. It was so cool! As my companion and I were teaching they had these birds too. So loud, never get birds. My temporary companion is talking about the First Vision and I remember praying so intently in my heart for these birds to be quiet long enough for them to hear this experience. The birds went silent right after that heart-felt prayer right when I heard, "This is my Beloved Son, Hear Him!" but in Spanish. I was just blown away by the Spirit. It was so cool.
Élder Seaquist and I have been working with our quad mates to be more wholesome in our thoughts and actions. We have to do 25 push-ups every time that we say something that isn't wholesome or nice. It has helped me so much because I really really want to be more wholesome haha. Especially with Élder Seaquist since he is new here, he has got to break in the Missionary Mindset haha. I am either going to get massive triceps and a chiseled chest or become more wholesome... Guess you all will see with time.
I love this Gospel so much! We had Zone Conference this last week and we talked a lot about the Book of Mormon and the role it plays in our missionary work. I think it is so cool that we offer to the world something that not a lot of people know about, that can bring them closer to Christ. I know it has 100% helped me come to know my Savior more in depth and has helped me apply His Gospel into my life. I love the message we carry and there is no better feeling than giving someone a copy of a book that will change their life. I love the "This Day" talk by Élder Rasband in the past general conference talking about the Book of Mormon... It talks about how important it is and how we should be prayerfully thinking of someone to give it to. I invite you all to do that too! I promise, you will see miracles and changed lives come from it.
Well, this week was filled with a lot of miracles and fun times and I won't make this email too long. That way you will want to keep reading them. I hope you all have a great week this week and remember that you have a Savior that loves you! Be safe and please please feel free to reach out to me! Adiós mis queridos amigos!
Helaman 12:23 - Therefore, blessed are they who will repent and hearken unto the voice of the Lord their God; for these are they that shall be saved
