Week 76

Bueno bueno a todos!!

Man, what a week filled with miracles! Ah man, I can say with certeza that God is so good! We had a lot of success this past week and of course a lot of fun that followed. I'm so grateful to have had a not so good week so I can know how to appreciate the good ones! It's getting a bit warmer here and I'm happy about it. It's hitting around 40 degrees and above so it's been sweater weather! Reminds me of that song from SpongeBob. It's also scaring me because that means I'm closer and closer to ending my mission, eeek!

Well I'm going to say this first because you will have a higher chance of reading it and not skipping down to the bottom. Alejandro is on date for baptism!! We had such an amazing lesson with him the past week. We taught the Gospel of Jesus Christ and talked about the eternal joy that comes from following Him. We bore testimony so strongly of the power of covenants and how it literally binds us to Christ. We afterwards asked him the "Golden Questions" and he said he would like to be baptized in the truth church of Jesus Christ! It's for the 25th of February right now but we're going to have to move it back a week or two for now. Please please please keep him in your prayers so that he changes his life for the better!

On Saturday, Elder Seaquist and I had a streak of just an amazing few contacts going door to door. We met this one father who was home from work because of the weather and we had a great conversation with him about the Gospel and the Restoration! He agreed to having us come back and teach him and his family! As well, afterwards we talked to this Marine and shared a fantastic message about the importance of the Book of Mormon and the amount of joy and peace it brings to know that we have it too! He was an awesome guy and we walked away just filled with the Spirit and it carried us on throughout the day.

I love the branch I serve in. The people here have hearts of gold and I feel a genuine love for each of them. It's been weird being out so long and just being able to love people so quickly. It's definitely a gift of the Spirit because I couldn't do it without my Heavenly Father! We work closely with a lot of families, but when we go over I can just say that the smiles we get is what makes every single hard day seem like nothing. The darkness of the world fades and we enjoy the Spirit of Christ and the joy that accompanies it.

Something I liked this week that really inspired me was a talk called, "Which way do you face?" by Élder Lynn G. Robbins. It really struck me because it talked about really knowing where you stand with your relationship with God. It seems almost completely natural to fear man rather than we do God. However, it should be the contrary. We have to worry about how God sees us and what we're doing for Him rather than how man sees us or what we're doing for them. I took it upon myself to evaluate where I truly stand (in which I was honest, but tried not to be too harsh on myself) and I have set some good goals here for the future. If you haven't read this talk, I highly recommend it because it helped me realign my spiritual eyes!

God is good. Christ lives. This work is amazing. I love being a missionary. I love the Scriptures. I know this church is true. Spanish is great. You all are loved. Have a great week!
