Week 78

Hola mis pachangueros!!

Man another week has flown by! I'm going to keep saying that till I die it seems like. I've noticed a lot of just how much time can slip by and how I need to savor every second! I found this Scripture in Matthew the other day and I guess I'll share it here so you all see it hehe. "And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened" (Matthew 24:22) in this verse it's talking about the tribulations that will come and how the elect of God will still have to pass through these things, but it'll seem shorter because of their faith and obedience to God. I feel like this works with any part of life too! When we're righteous and following Christ, everyday seems to pass by so quickly! I've seen that for sure in my service before the Lord.

Okay so yes, now about my week! Since it was transfer week and we didn't have any changes Élder Seaquist and I got to go out and do some work while everyone was doing their switching and what not. We went to the chiropractor and then after to have a friend of ours get a haircut for us. That took half the day at least, which was not hype, we walked around a few different places in our area this week that I'd never visited before so that was really fun! We met this one gentleman and ended up setting a future appointment to come back! At first we asked him where he was from and all that basic good stuff trying to get to know him and homie tells us that he is just working at the house is standing in front of. I obviously don't believe it but I give him the benefit of the doubt and keep talking. He looks at us after I asked him how God has affected his life and goes, "Well, not a whole lot because I lied about everything I just told you." I'm sitting there looking like this, and then he gets to a point where he apologizes and asks us to come back. I love this work!

On Saturday we had dinner planned with this sweet woman but since she's alone she can't have us over at her home. We figured some stuff out and we ended up going over to another member's house and having dinner there. We were talking and something she had brought up was that this family makes some good Pozole. If I am honest, ya boy has been on a Pozole rave since I got to this area. So I'm like "yo what do you do differently with it?" She goes, "I make it white like your skin." I'm sitting there again like… and asked her if it at least tasted good. She said yes and it happened to be that we had dinner with the family the next day haha. She made it for us and man it was so good she was definitely right. I love Latinos, their kindness, and their culinary skills.

I have studied a lot this week about Conversion to Jesus Christ and what it really means. I have realized a lot that people think all we do is bring them to our Church. We do bring them to our church, but the goal is to convert people to Him. Obviously with conversion comes joining His true church, but people have that thought or stigma about us. I know that I am converted to Jesus Christ and His teachings and His Atonement. I've loved getting to know Him more personally these past 18 months. It feels weird to say I don't have much longer, but I know that I've still got more! Thanks for giving this a read. Please pray for our friend Alejandro who is currently on date to be baptized. He seems to be nervous about coming to Church and won't come haha. My companion and I would really appreciate a few extra prayers sent his way! Yall are awesome. God is good!

Feel free to reach out and please be safe!

Luke 6:10-11

"And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him."
