Week 81

Como andan ustedes?!

Oh man, how has another week flown by? I'm starting to get scared by how fast time is passing. It rained and snowed this week as well. Nevada needs it all for sure. We've been praying and praying for us to receive this much rain and precipitation and...it happened! It also is starting to get a bit warmer too which is good. I had a great week! Things went very well and I really enjoyed getting to work and spreading that good message!

A miracle from this week we had gone something like this, Elder Seaquist and I left to go out and do some visits in the morning before lunch. We were driving and my companion goes, "Hey, let's go visit this guy (someone we had dropped and hadn't seen for a month or two) and see how he is doing. I immediately was like, okay! So we went over and when we showed up, his door was already open. My companion goes, "God has already opened the door for us!" so we dashed right in and he was there! We had an awesome contact and he recently had gone through an accident and was waiting for us to come by ever since then. The spirit was strong as we testified of the Gospel! Oh man, I love being a missionary so much. Nothing compares to these Little moments we have each day!

This week, I wanted to run you guys through what it's like to "Drop" someone from your teaching pool. It's oftentimes a pretty sad and unfortunate process, but very necessary. When we "Drop" someone, we pray to know if this is the will of God and if they are ready at this time to hear the message of the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Just yesterday we visited someone we had been trying to get in contact with for a while now. They are really busy so when we caught them all at home, we knew we needed to talk to them. We simply asked them if they wanted to learn about Jesus Christ and the Uniquely found peace that He gives us. Unfortunately, they said no. We offered our help anyway and said that if they were ever interested, they could give us a call! It is a sad process because we care so much for these people, but everyone has their agency and all we can do is pray and care for them. There is a little bit of info for you guys!

This past week I was on exchanges with Elder Bywater who is currently serving in Lake Tahoe. We were here in my area and we visited someone we had found just a few days earlier. We came into their home and taught them the wonderful Plan of Salvation. As we sat down and talked about it, I remember the impression to really focus specifically on the importance of happiness and joy found in the Plan. The wife sat back on the couch and began to cry and said, "I have had such a bad day, and you guys came over here and shared exactly what I needed." Élder Bywater looked at each other with shock and smiles as her husband comforted her as we taught more. This gospel is about peace and joy. Miracles are real and God is watchful of all His people!

I have been studying this past week in the Gospel of John and I have loved studying this so much! The New Testament has been so awesome to familiarize myself with the ministry of Christ while He was in Jerusalem. I love the miracles and teachings that are found there. I have often tried putting myself in the story and imagining myself in different scenarios of what's going on. I imagine myself as the person being healed, Christ, a bystander, a Pharisee, and an apostle. It's so eye opening and really has helped me understand more. I love the scriptures holy smokes. Read them. Ponder them.

Have a great week y'all! God is good. Be safe in all that you do and remember that you are free to reach out to me whenever! I am not so good at responding sometimes, but I try my best!

John 5:19 - Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.
